The International Public Policy major focuses on the role of international organizations in the global economy. Courses examine how states and societies can pursue their economic goals in an environmentally and socially sustainable manner. Students are challenged to think critically about the globalization’s impact on world economy, sustainable development, and the fight against global poverty. The major relates theory to practice and provides students with knowledge in sustainable international development, governance and political economy, environment and development, and international public health. Graduates pursue a variety of careers in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of development programs, working for governments, international and non-profit organizations, and private companies.
