International Studies majors study the intersection of politics, culture and religion, economics, history, and foreign languages. It is an attractive major for students interested in international business, international organizations, government service, international development, environmental affairs, and international communication/journalism.
The curriculum includes courses in international and comparative politics, international law and organizations, national and international security, foreign policy, global economy, and foreign languages. Students also select courses from business, communication, cultural and religious studies, economics, history, geography, philosophy, sociology, and urban affairs and planning.
Students are required to reach proficiency in a foreign language.
