High School Spring Break | Apr. 15-19 | Apr. 22-26

High School Spring Break Weather Update for Friday April 19, 2019

The current Blacksburg weather forecast for Friday April 19, 2019 calls for severe weather including heavy rain, thunderstorms and high wind.  Showers and scattered thunderstorms are expected by 8:00am with deteriorating conditions throughout the day.  Based on this forecast we are cancelling all walking tours of the campus tomorrow, April 19th.  Our indoor sessions will continue as scheduled.

Although our formal sixty-minute walking tours on campus are cancelled, visitors are advised that you will have to walk from inside venue to inside venue so please plan accordingly for the weather.

ATTENTION: After Spring Break, we will return to our normal schedule with daily information sessions and tours offered most Monday-Fridays and several Saturdays throughout the year.

During periods when the Office of Undergraduate Admissions is unavailable but the Visitor's Center is open, we also offer daily information session video presentations and self-guided campus tours for walk-in visitors.

From April 15 - 19, 2019 and from April 22 - 26, 2019, Undergraduate Admissions will offers expanded information sessions and tour times as well as a College and Departmental Information Fair to accommodate the high volume of visitors during the period when many high schools are on spring break. To make the most of your day on campus, we encourage visitors to plan to attend an admissions information session, a campus tour, and a college or departmental information session relevant to your academic area of interest. Admissions information sessions will be held at the Inn at Virginia Tech. Tours will meet on the front steps of Burruss Hall and will leave promptly at the designated tour times.

During the High School Spring Break dates, parking will be available for Admissions Information Sessions at the Inn at Virginia Tech (901 Prices Fork Road).  During these High School Spring Break weeks, visitors parking in this lot do not need a parking permit. If you plan to move your car to central campus at any point during your visit, please request a parking permit when you check-in with Undergraduate Admissions at the Inn at Virginia Tech.

In the unlikely event that this program is cancelled or postponed due to unforeseen circumstances, the university cannot be held responsible for any other expenses, including cancellation or change charges assessed by airlines, hotels, travel agencies, or other organizations.

For weather or disaster-related program cancellation or postponement information, please watch the admissions home page or our social media channels. Twitter | Facebook | Instagram
