Diversity Undergraduate Recruitment
Make the most of your Virginia Tech experience by joining a Living-Learning Program. Living-Learning Programs provide students with the opportunity to thrive both in and out of the classroom in a learning environment that becomes home.
The Black College Institute is an academic summer enrichment program by Virginia Tech. It hosts talented, high-achieving and academically curious rising high school juniors and seniors. For 2022, the in-person program will be held over a 5-day period and the virtual program (juniors) will be held over 4 days.
The Hispanic College Institute (HCI) is a four-day residential program hosted at Virginia Tech that focuses on rising high school juniors and seniors in hopes of introducing them to the college search process. We match them up with current college students that lead teams that we call FAMILIAs. The students spend those four days learning from each other as well as their leaders (LEADS and Jr LEADS) and building confidence; not only confidence about getting into Virginia Tech but self-confidence about how to be successful in life.
