Music at Virginia Tech
At Virginia Tech, you can make music the focus of your degree or combine a music major with another field of study.
Performance is central to the Virginia Tech music experience. Music majors participate in ensembles, collaborate with fellow musicians, and develop their artistry through performances, creative projects, and individualized faculty mentorship.
Students benefit from the close relationships of a small music program while gaining access to the opportunities and resources of a major research university. Depending on their chosen program, students may perform, teach, compose, record, produce, design sound, develop music technology, or explore connections among music, engineering, media, and other disciplines.
