There are two options available under our Agribusiness Degree: Agribusiness Management and Veterinary Business Management.
The Agribusiness Management Option prepares students to enter the largest industry in the world: the food industry and the giant agribusiness complex. Courses in accounting, economics, statistics, and agricultural policy supplement an agricultural economics base enabling B.S. graduates to obtain the skills necessary to become managers, lenders, and analysts in the agricultural sector. The option allows students to develop expertise in agricultural finance, management, marketing, and agricultural price risk management. Careers in farm business, agricultural lending, banking, agricultural commodity trading, and agribusiness management, sales, and marketing. The option also encourages students to work towards establishing and running their own farm and small business. Job opportunities are expanding rapidly as the agricultural sector expands to meet rapidly growing food demand and biofuel production.
The Veterinary Business Management Option prepares students to apply for veterinary school while also taking business-oriented classes to assist in running a veterinary practice. Courses in biology, chemistry, physics, biochemistry, and accounting supplement an agricultural economics base enabling B.S. graduates to obtain the skills necessary to be competitive applicants for veterinary school.
