As an established operations executive with broad expertise in building and orchestrating the functional elements for healthy work environments in government, academic and industry sectors, Mark is an effective leader in high growth, complex organizations, large and small.
Mark leverages a deep network of executive level resources within the confluence of business, finance and technology to successfully execute technology and business plans. He is proficient in all phases of technology innovation, intellectual property capture, protection and transition for strategic business outcomes. Experienced with large project and program management, Mark is an organized and persuasive communicator with excellent relationship management capabilities, and skilled negotiator of both industry and government contracts.
Mark was instrumental in founding eight venture backed enterprises and stimulating economic development as a practitioner of public and private partnerships. He has been twice nationally recognized for excellence in technology transfer. Before joining LINK, Mark served as Deputy Director for Virginia Tech’s Hume Center for National Security and Technology. Prior to that, he spent 13 years at the Department of Energy’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and worked for 20 years as a company founder, entrepreneur, and business development expert in Silicon Valley. Mark is a graduate of University of California at Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry.
