Foundation Relations works closely with the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation (OVPRI) and the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) to secure philanthropic support for university research and to strengthen foundation partnerships.

PARTNER HIGHLIGHTS

Beckman Scholars Program

Emily Zhou, a post-doctoral research associate with Virginia Tech's School of Plant and Environmental Sciences, sows seeds in germination trays. The seeds will germinate there and the seedlings will grow for few weeks until the seedlings can be transplanted to the indoor vertical NFT systems or the NFT systems in the greenhouse.

The Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation announced that Virginia Tech was among 12 universities and colleges selected as the 2021 class of Beckman Scholars Program awardees.

Thome Memorial Foundation

The Fralin Biomedical Research Institute will open a new focused ultrasound facility in its latest expansion with support from the Edward N. & Della L. Thome Memorial Foundation.  

Henry Luce Foundation

Sofia

The Henry Luce Foundation’s Theology Program awarded the Center for Humanities a grant to support “Future Humans, Human Futures,” a project on religion, ethics, and technology.
