Virginia Tech Talent Graduate Scholarships

For Virginia Tech Graduates in the Master of Science or Master of Engineering programs

The Virginia Tech Talent Graduate Scholarship supports eligible Virginia-resident students who are completing or have recently completed their undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech who are pursuing either a Master of Science or Master of Engineering in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.

Accelerated Masters Undergraduate/Graduate Program Virginia-resident students who are not on an assistantship, are enrolled full-time (9 credit hours in the fall or spring or 6 credit hours in the summer) as graduate students at either the Blacksburg or Northern Virginia campus in an accelerated 4+1 masters program in an eligible graduate degree, will receive $5,000 per term (summer, fall, and spring only) for up to three terms, provided those terms are completed by Spring 2024.

Regular Graduate Program
Virginia-resident students who are not on an assistantship, are enrolled full-time (9 credit hours in the fall or spring or 6 credit hours in the summer) as regular graduate students at either the Blacksburg or Northern Virginia campus in an eligible graduate degree, and meet the other applicable criteria for this program will receive $3,000 per term (summer, fall, and spring only) for up to five terms, provided those terms are completed by Spring 2025. Students will need to submit their Graduate School admission application to be considered for this award.

For Partner University graduates in the Master of Engineering Program

The Virginia Tech Talent Graduate Scholarship supports select Virginia-resident students who are completing or have recently completed their undergraduate degree from one of our partner universities who are pursuing either a Master of Engineering in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.

Our partner Universities include: Radford University, Hollins University, University of Mary Washington, James Madison University, and Christopher Newport University

Accelerated Masters Undergraduate/Graduate Program
Virginia-resident students who are not on an assistantship, are enrolled full-time (9 credit hours in the fall or spring or 6 credit hours in the summer) their first term as graduate students at either the Blacksburg or Northern Virginia campus in an accelerated 4+1 masters program in an eligible graduate degree, and meet the other applicable criteria for this program will receive a one-time award of $3000 with their acceptance confirmation, provided their entry term is on or before Spring 2024.

Regular Graduate Program
Virginia-resident students who are not on an assistantship, are enrolled full-time (9 credit hours in the fall or spring or 6 credit hours in the summer) their first semester as regular graduate students at either the Blacksburg or Northern Virginia campus in an eligible graduate degree, and meet the other applicable criteria for this program will receive a one-time award of $3000 with their acceptance confirmation, provided their entry term is on or before Summer 2025. Students will need to submit their Graduate School admission application before they can apply for this scholarship.

Privately Funded Scholarships

Boeing Graduate Scholars

The Boeing Graduate Scholars program provides various levels of scholarships including up to full tuition and fees at the graduate in-state rate to support high achieving U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are traditionally underrepresented in technology in either the Master of Engineering in Computer Science or Master of Engineering in Computer Engineering programs. Students must be enrolled at the Northern Virginia Campus. Preference will be given to underrepresented students, Virginia residents, those with demonstrated financial need, who are enrolled at least half-time. Full-time students can receive funding for a total of up to three terms and half-time students up to five. This award may be combined with other scholarships but will be cancelled if the student receives a departmental assistantship. Students will need to submit their Graduate School admission application before they can apply for this scholarship.

Boeing Tech Talent Access Program Scholarship

The Boeing Tech Talent Access Program Scholarship provides up to full tuition and fees at the undergraduate in-state rate to support applicants who are interested in the Master of Engineering in Computer Science or Computer Engineering to complete the required undergraduate prerequisites courses the term prior to starting their graduate studies. Preference will be given to underrepresented students, Virginia residents, and students with demonstrated financial need. Students will need to submit their Graduate School admission application before they can apply for this scholarship
