Tech on Tap - Get up to speed with self-driving cars

6:30 p.m., Port City Brewing Co., Alexandria

Let’s say there is a road closure. Or a traffic stop. Or a work zone. You, as a human driver, should know what to do—but would a self-driving car?  How can the greater D.C. area prepare for self-driving cars? In this talk, Mike Mollenhauer,  director of the Center for Technology Implementation at the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute, explores the roadway infrastructure and technologies that will be needed to pave the way.

Admission is free.
