Driving Separately

Gateway is an admitted student-only program. Family members are responsible for securing their own accommodations and meals. A list of dining options and other campus activities taking place that weekend will be provided. If you plan to drive separately, please use our directions to Virginia Tech.

Bus Transportation

There is limited charter bus transportation for students (only) departing from Richmond, Hampton Roads, and Northern Virginia areas. Each bus will have an adult chaperone accompany the students. Please check back later for departure locations and times.

Whether you drive yourself or use the transportation provided, you must register for Gateway online. Registration will open mid-March.

Parking Pointers

You can park in almost any parking place on the weekends, with the following exceptions:

• metered parking spaces at the University Bookstore (meters elsewhere on campus are generally not enforced on weekends)
• parking lots marked 24-hour faculty and staff (F/S 24-hour)
• a designated handicapped parking space without a handicapped permit
