Campus Connection Day

In the interest of keeping all Hokies healthy during the COVID-19 outbreak, Virginia Tech is cancelling spring events. More information concerning this decision is available here:

Campus Connection Day is a single day event designed for students and families who wish to learn more about the African American and Black student experience at Virginia Tech, as well as other opportunities and resources available such as the Black Cultural Center and Ujima Living and Learning Community.

Participants of Campus Connection Day will have the opportunity to network with current students, as well as faculty and staff from the university community. While the program is focused on the African American and Black student experience, we welcome the participation of any student who identifies as underrepresented or has an interest in Virginia Tech.

Campus Connection Day is an invitation-only program that is coordinated with our Open House event. Families are encouraged to take advantage of the admissions, financial aid, special interest, or college information sessions offered throughout the day. After registering for Campus Connection Day, you will receive an email to sign up for Open House on Sunday, November 17th or you can register with this link. Please make sure that you register for Campus Connection Day and Open House. Students must register by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25th. Registration will close as seats are filled or on Friday, October 25th at 5:00 p.m..

During Open House, you will attend the sessions that you sign up for on your registration (optional). We will then connect for the mandatory portion of Campus Connection Day, the lunch. This luncheon will allow you to connect with faculty/staff, current students, and campus resources. After the luncheon, admissions decisions will be distributed to those that submitted their application no later than Friday, October 25.

Fall Open House Events: Oct. 26 or 27 & Nov. 16 or 17

Thinking about making Virginia Tech your home? There are two more Open House events left this fall, and a full schedule of great opportunities for prospective students.

Campus Connection Day includes:

  • Luncheon (mandatory)
  • Student panel
  • Faculty/staff networking
  • Release of admissions decisions (mandatory)

Students who submit an application by Friday, October 25 will receive an admissions decision at the conclusion of Campus Connection Day luncheon. Instructions are below.

Please take a look at these instructions as the application process has changed. If the application is received after the deadline, students are not guaranteed a decision at the conclusion of the program.

  1. Submit your application online: Make sure to do your Coalition profile, add Virginia Tech as one of your colleges, and then complete the Virginia Tech portion of the application. Select Early Action as your Decision Plan.
  2. On the Virginia Tech specific part of the Coalition application, there is a section labeled Pre-College Programs. Select Campus Connection and Black College Institute (if you attended). This will waive your application fee.

** Details are subject to change.
