The Yates Project is a unique initiative coordinated through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Members of the project serve the university as official ambassadors in their hometowns and local communities. Membership is comprised of a diverse group of student leaders from a multitude of backgrounds and experiences.

The Yates Project supports this endeavor by targeting underrepresented populations including African American, Hispanic/Latino, and Native American students; students from lower-income families; students who participate in pipeline college programs; and students from rural areas of Appalachia.
