Business Explorations Conference
The Pamplin College of Business hosts the Business Explorations Conference for High School Students each semester: off campus in the local communities in the fall, and on campus in the spring. Pamplin partners with pipeline/college access programs and business programs within the schools to recruit students for this conference. College-bound underrepresented and underserved high school sophomores/juniors are recruited for both the fall and spring semester events.
Each semester, the students are put into working groups of students from different schools. They participate in workshops that help them develop team work, communication, and creative problem solving skills. In the spring semester, students are assigned a current Pamplin student, who serves as their Conference Assistant, and who takes the students on a tour of campus. Each team is also tasked with competing in a Shark Tank competition.
