My advice for the college search process is...

Go on campus tours!! Walk around the dorms, academic buildings, & dining halls and try to visualize yourself as a student there. If it's not possible to visit in person then at least do a virtual tour to get a feel for the school. Also, talk to people who currently attend colleges you're interested in and ask them for their opinions (while keeping in mind that everyone has very different experiences!)

I chose Virginia Tech because...

I really liked how positive and welcoming the student body felt. Also, the campus was beautiful.
