College of Science

The Minor in Physics is open to all Virginia Tech students (except Majors in Physics, due to course overlap) and requires the completion of 21 credits hours. The Minor includes 12 credit hours of required foundational courses and laboratory work in physics, augmented by intermediate courses such as electricity and magnetism and by restricted electives within the physics curriculum. The Minor furthers the understanding of physical phenomena for students with an interest in the topic, but whose class schedule does not allow for a second Major in physics.
