Astronomy

College of Science

The Minor in Astronomy is open to all students. But it is mainly intended for two groups: (1) students majoring in science, mathematics, or engineering, who wish to pursue a graduate degree in astronomy or astrophysics, or (2) students who wish to enlarge their understanding of astronomy and astrophysics at the undergraduate level. The Minor requires 18 credits, which include courses in introductory astronomy (with no prerequisites) and courses in astrophysics (which require calculus-based introductory physics, PHYS 2305-2306, as a prerequisite).
