The Vice President for Student Affairs is responsible for:

  • Promoting students’ academic success, personal growth, and development of life skills
  • Creating environments, programs, and services that support the university’s teaching and learning focus and its mission to expand personal growth and opportunity, advance social and community development, foster economic competitiveness, and improve the quality of life in the Commonwealth of Virginia, the nation, and the world
  • Creating environments that are welcoming to all
  • Promoting supportive and inclusive communities
  • Contributing to a just and caring university
  • Offering services that are necessary for students to function successfully on campus
  • Supporting the academic mission of the university and Student Affairs
  • Providing high quality environments, programs, and services with cost-effective administration
  • Programming that support the academic, personal, and professional development of all students
  • Including information on housing, dining, support services, and countless exciting opportunities that enrich and make the Hokie experience unique
  • Guiding the success of students from orientation through graduation.
