Dedicated in 1996 as part of the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, the Richard B. Talbot Educational Resources Center includes two auditorium-style lecture halls with audiovisual support systems, three multidisciplinary learning laboratories, a computer laboratory, a library, and the College Center — a multipurpose facility that serves as a student center and a convocation area. It also includes study areas, student offices, and a food service center. 

 

Richard B. Talbot

Dr. Richard B. Talbot came to Virginia Tech in 1974 to help the university plan and build the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. He served as founding dean through the graduation of its charter class in 1984. Talbot later served as director of the United States Food and Drug Administration's Office of New Animal Drug Administration. He later returned to his teaching and research responsibilities at Virginia Tech until his death in 1994.
